In Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Half-Baker lives up to his name, “Half-Baker,” and has signed the anti-“conversion therapy” bill into law. He follows in the footsteps of the governor of New Hampshire, the “Live Free or Die” state, Gov. Chris Sununu, who signed a similar bill just weeks before his reelection last Fall.
As I wrote in this post, “Conversion therapy isn’t just the ‘electric shock therapy’ that the fear mongering propagandists have been screaming about. Conversion therapy can include someone who is insecure with his or her sexual orientation or gender identity, such as having difficulty identifying with one’s gender that one was born with, and going to a clinical psychotherapist to talk about the issue to try to deal with it better…”
And, “yes, it is a charade with this transgender crap. Someone who is a male but believes he is a female obviously has some psychological issues going on. Maybe he’s been brainwashed by wacko parents or by demented ideologically-guided teachers at school, or there is some high level of dysfunction in the home that is affecting his personality development or his self-identity and gender identity. Whatever the situation, someone who is a male but thinks he’s a female (but clearly isn’t a female because he’s a male) or someone who is a female but thinks she’s a male (but clearly isn’t a male because she’s a female) and who wants to have a normal gender identity that’s based on what actual biological gender the person actually is, has a right to seek guidance in that regard…”
Sorry for my copying and pasting from an earlier post. I wish I had more time.
The whole law is as anti-freedom of speech, thought and conscience as you can get, and I hope someone takes this up to the U.S. Supreme Court (although most of the time, those 9 bureaucrats are totally useless, I know). This whole thing is about free speech, not “gay or transgender civil rights.” It is about compelled speech, banned speech, censorship, and silencing innocent people in the name of promoting unhealthy lifestyles.
And the cognitive dissonance and irrationality of the social activists is getting worse now. The gender and gay activists want to ban such “conversion” treatments by law, but they endorse “doctors” slicing and dicing and cutting off the sex organs of perfectly healthy people including minors, and without their parents’ approval, by the way. Many of these same deranged activist psychos also want to legalize murdering unborn babies up to the point of birth and even after the baby is born.
And another thing: “conversion”? Who is “converting,” and converting to what? This is about young people who have confusion and want to be what they are. It’s the activists who are trying to “convert” someone over to the opposite sex despite one’s actual biological sex.
So, the new law in Massachusetts clearly addresses “licensed” therapists and other practitioners and states that they could be subject to disciplinary action by the licensing boards if they try to help a confused young person deal with his or her gender issues or sexual attraction issues that the person wants to get help in dealing with.
The conclusion: If you are someone who is dealing with the above issues and who wants to be treated with therapy to help you deal with those issues, don’t go to a licensed therapist or practitioner. This whole thing is yet another example of the validity of requiring practitioners to be licensed by the gubmint, especially when many people in that bureaucracy are crackpots.
Finally, Laurence Vance has an article on a related issue, that of a Catholic lady refusing to rent a room at her B&B to a lesbian couple, which is her right to do in a free society. The couple took her to court. Now, there are plenty of places to rent a room. Couldn’t the couple just find another place? It’s just like the activists taking those wedding florists, bakers and photographers to court. You can very well find someone else to bake your damn cake, so why harass the ones who don’t want to do business with you? (Because Amerika is now an extremely narcissistic society, in which people claim to have some kind of a right to other people’s property, and a right to force other people to serve them, involuntarily, that’s why.)
As Laurence Vance says, in an authoritarian society such as ours, your property is not your own, it’s the government’s.
And if you have a psychotherapy practice, it is also not your own, it’s the government’s. The activists on behalf of sexual perversion, dysfunction and deviancy now know how to use the coercive powers of government to impose their ways of life onto others. Sad.
