Another Mass Shooting, This Time in a Texas Church (Updated)

Well, I was just writing about the warmongeritis in Washington, and now we hear of another mass shooting, this time in a small Texas church. And this time allegedly by a U.S. military-trained psychopath (who is now dead), someone who was court-martialed in 2012, sentenced to a year in confinement, and given a “bad conduct” discharge in 2014.

As usual, the frantic hystericals on the left such as Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Shady Pines) will escalate their gun-grabbing agenda, as though government restrictions of civilian gun ownership or purchases will prevent these tragedies. You see, criminals or those who are intent on assault or killing people don’t obey the law, they don’t obey the laws against assault, murder, rape, and so on, so duh, they aren’t going to obey laws regarding guns. Gun control laws do nothing but disarm law-abiding citizens, and gun-free zones such as churches and schools make the people in those places more vulnerable to attacks.

So far, I have not read anything about the alleged killer’s possibly being given any psychiatric drugs, pain killers or combos (UPDATE: see below). As I wrote in this post on psychiatric drugs and in this post on the recent Las Vegas alleged mass murderer, some factors which may have contributed to Devin Kelley’s violent rampage (if in fact it was he who did it) include the aforementioned psychiatric drugs, such as anti-anxiety, antidepressant and ant-psychotic drugs and pain killers (all of which are known to potentially have terrible side effects including exacerbating depressed feelings and suicidal thoughts or behaviors, aggression and delusions), and excessive video game playing or otherwise computer/phone screen time.

Now, we haven’t had these kinds of mass shootings, or mass truck-driving massacres like the recent one in New York City until the past decade or two. At least, not really. Why are they happening now? In the days when I was growing up during the 1960s and ’70s, there were no kids on Xanax, Zoloft, Vicodin, Valium, Ritalin, or Adderall (or combinations of them, as the military “doctors” give some desperate troops now). At least, I was never aware of that while growing up. There were violent shootings and bombings, such as by the Weather Underground domestically and the U.S. military in Vietnam. (A lot of mass killings there by the invading U.S. military, but it was not in the reverse — were there Vietnamese people here in the U.S. bombing and shooting people? But I digress.) But whatever happened during the 1960s and ’70s doesn’t seem to compare with the 2000s and 2010s now.

Sadly, with all the cases I have mentioned in past posts of mass killers who had been on those psychiatric drugs, the mainstream media do not report on that aspect of those cases, because the pharmaceutical companies are some of the news outlets’ biggest sponsors. It’s sick.

UPDATE: According to WND and other sources, a former classmate of Kelley’s stated, “I know his parents had him on heavy doses of meds in middle school … A lot of friends that knew him said he was too sick in the head to deal with by senior year of high school.” Now, this may not be true. But it does reinforce the possibility that he’s been taking psychiatric drugs since at least 10 years ago.

UPDATE II: According to the Daily Mail, Devin Kelley’s best friend from age 12 to 19 Ralph Martinez “said he had a lot in common, both of them were super-hyper active. Martinez says he took prescription medicine for his ADHD until he was 19 and Devin took prescription pills for the same thing for as long as he can remember.”

Like antidepressants and anti-anxiety drugs, anti-ADHD drugs such as Ritalin have also been associated with school shootings and violent outbursts.
